What happens after I am hired on a job?
What happens after I am hired on a job?
Updated over a week ago

Congratulations on being selected! You've put in the effort to set up a professional profile, found a job that you are keen on and submitted an amazing application statement! All this has paid off and we are so happy that you've been successful!

Where do I find jobs I have been hired on?

After being hired to work a job, you will receive a notification and you can find it in the 'Active' section on your jobs dashboard. We highly recommend clicking into the job and reviewing the job details and requirements, including:

  • Date and time

  • Location

  • Uniform requirements (if applicable)

  • Any other shift requirements (e.g. if an online induction is required)

If you are unable to meet any requirements you should withdraw from the job as soon as possible. Bear in mind that any withdrawals are subject to the conditions outlined in our Reliability Policy.

How do I contact the business I am working with?

Contacting the business is not a requirement, and is only necessary in the following instances:

  • Where key information is missing from the job details (such as a meeting location or parking information)

  • Where the job details request you to contact the business (such as to provide your t-shirt size, or to call an on-site manager upon arrival)

Some businesses will include contact information in the job details but if not, you will always be able to find the job contact and their preferred contact method in the job "To-dos".

Some jobs will have Sidekicker listed as the preferred contact, in which case feel free to get in touch with our team. Make sure you specify which job you're referring to so we can help you in a timely manner!

What if I can't get in contact with the business I am working for?

If you are unsure of any of the shift details or just need some clarity, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team via the blue Sidekicker chat bubble. If we can't answer your question, we'll be in touch with the client on your behalf.

Please make yourself reachable by phone and email in case the client needs to provide you with further details. Regardless of whether or not you are contacted by the client before your shift, you are always expected to turn up.

If you have any queries or concerns at all, we're always available via the blue Sidekicker chat bubble.

Note: As your employer of record, please contact Sidekicker directly for any questions relating to pay or if you need to withdraw.

What are confirmation texts and how do they work?

Confirmation texts act as a handy reminder to our Sidekicks about their upcoming shifts with us. We find that sending confirmation texts reduces the chances that Sidekicks accidentally miss their shifts, and gives us notice about any changes to your availability before the job starts.

If you did not receive a text - no stress! We don't always send texts, such as if you were only hired onto the shift <48 hours before the start time, or you are a regular worker with us.
