As a Sidekick, you are part of a community of professional, experienced and reliable individuals. Being part of this community means that you are held to high standards of service, and it means following a set of guidelines and responsibilities for being on the platform.
We give you the ability to choose which shifts you apply for, but we expect that you are available for those shifts once you are selected. Withdrawing from a shift you’ve been selected for has a negative impact on clients who hired you and other Sidekicks who missed out on the chance to accept the shift.
When can I withdraw from a shift?
Before you’re selected;
If your circumstances change before you are selected, you can withdraw your application on the app.
After you’re selected;
You cannot withdraw from a shift after you’ve been selected for it. If extenuating circumstances mean you can no longer work your shift, please call Sidekicker on 1800 665 035 (Aus) or 0800 003 998 (NZ), or contact us through the chat bubble in the app or desktop. To withdraw from a shift, please make sure you include the details of the shift you are withdrawing from including:
- Your full name
- Date and time of the shift
- Client name
- Job title
- Reason for your withdrawal
What happens if I withdraw or don’t attend my shift?
Sidekicker does not tolerate Sidekicks that do not attend a shift they are selected for. If you do not attend your shift and have not informed Sidekicker about withdrawing from the shift, your account will be deactivated immediately and you will be unable to continue working with Sidekicker.
If you notified Sidekicker of your withdrawal, the withdrawal will be marked down on your account. These withdrawals are reviewed weekly and, pending the circumstances of the withdrawal, may still lead to your account being deactivated. As a general rule of thumb, it is best to have no more than 1 withdrawal every 10 shifts.
