Retirement might seem like a really, really long time away. When we consider how quickly life flies by, it's probably going to come around a lot quicker than we thought! KiwiSaver is designed to be an easy way for you to save for your long-term future. It's completely voluntary and you can decide what amount you'd like to contribute.

How do I know if I'm contributing to KiwiSaver?

When you completed your Sidekicker profile, you would have been asked if you'd like to make KiwiSaver contributions. If you said yes, you would have completed a KiwiSaver Deduction form to let us know what amount you've chosen to contribute. If you said no, you would have needed to complete an opt-out form. To see if you're currently making contributions to your KiwiSaver or not, you just need to login to your account via our website, navigate to your account settings and click on the employment information tab. Once you're there, you'll be able to see what your current contributions look like.

Can I change my KiwiSaver contribution?

Of course! If you'd like to change your KiwiSaver contribution there are just two simple steps you'll need to take:

  • make the change on Sidekicker (in the employment information section of your account settings) and upload a new form -- either the deduction form or the opt out form.
  • tell us about the change you've made using the blue Sidekicker chat bubble -- this step is super important so that we can adjust it on our end.

How much will Sidekicker contribute to my KiwiSaver?

Your employer, in this case Sidekicker, will match your KiwiSaver contribution up to 3%. So, if you opt to contribute 3%, we will also contribute 3%. If you decide to contribute 8%, we will still contribute 3%.

How often does Sidekicker pay my KiwiSaver?

You KiwiSaver contribution is paid on the 20th of the following month. That means that if you get paid on September 1st, your KiwiSaver contribution will be paid on October 20th.

Despite your KiwiSaver being paid once a month, you'll be able to track your contributions on every payslip.

Why can't I see the contributions you've made in my KiwiSaver?

It takes roughly three months for a KiwiSaver contribution to reach your account. You can read through the process here
