What's the Sidekicker waitlist?

SIdekicker works like any other business -- it's all about supply and demand. It's really important that we maintain the right number of Sidekicks for the number of jobs we have. We'd hate to bring on a bunch of new Sidekicks and then not have enough work.

Keeping a waitlist means that when new jobs do become available, we have Sidekicks who are ready to jump in and start working asap.

Why have I been waitlisted?

Congrats! If your application has been waitlisted, it means that your experience has met our criteria and we would love to have you on board. The reason you've been waitlisted, rather than invited in for an interview, is because we don't currently have enough jobs in either your location or your area of experience.

How long will I be on the waitlist?

That's a great question. If it were up to us, you wouldn't be on one at all! There would be hundreds of new jobs posted every day -- enough for everyone.

Coming off the waitlist is entirely dependant on demand -- it might be weeks or it might be months. During peak season (September to December), this should happen fairly quickly.

We understand it can be frustrating and that you may need to continue looking for work. We're really sorry and we hope you can understand our position. Once you're off the waitlist, we promise it'll be worth it.

Why are you still recruiting if I'm on a waitlist?

You might see us advertising on Seek and be confused about why we're still recruiting if you're on a waitlist. You'd be surprised how many requests for staff we get that are in a unique location or require a certain skill. So, unless you're a qualified chef, with a forklift license, living in Portsea, who can speak two languages, you can understand why we always need to be on the look out.

We can assure you that we haven't forgotten about you, and we will definitely reach out to you when more work becomes available.
