There are a number of ways you can manage the jobs you are notified of, as well as the jobs that appear on your dashboard.

Below, we will walk you through the different ways of managing this, and we will also touch on the Filter and Sort features available on your WFV dashboard and how best to use them.

How do the notification settings work?

Your notification settings determine how you are notified, not what you are notified of. These settings can be updated on a desktop or via the app - both will allow you to determine whether you receive job notifications via email, but you’ll need to use the app to manage your ‘push’ notifications.

How do I turn all notifications on or off?

To manage your notifications on a desktop:

  • Click on your profile icon/picture in the top right hand corner
  • Select ‘Account Settings’
  • Click on the ‘Notifications’ tab
  • Update your notification settings and save your changes

To manage your notifications via the app:

  • Click on your profile icon/picture in the top right hand corner
  • Click on ‘Notifications’
  • Update your notification settings

How do my job preferences work?

Your job preferences help to determine which jobs you are notified of, as well as which jobs will appear on your dashboard. Note that at this stage, these preferences can only be managed via the app.

To manage your job preferences via the app:

  • Click on your profile icon/picture in the top right hand corner
  • Click on ‘Job preferences’
  • Update your Job preferences based on location (i.e. ‘Where I want to work’)

Note: As job opportunities only display the estimated start and end dates (not times), the ‘When I want to work’ section will not have any impact on your notifications, nor the jobs that appear on your dashboard.

How do the Filter and Sort features work?

The ‘Filter’ and ‘Sort’ features can be found on your WFV dashboard. They are really helpful for refining and sorting through the jobs that are available to you, so we encourage you to use them!

The ‘Open’, ‘Applied’ and ‘Passed’ filter

This feature allows you to filter jobs based on their status, making it easy for you to navigate between:

  • Open jobs that are currently available
  • Jobs you have previously Applied for that are still pending
  • Jobs that you are not interested in and have therefore Passed

Note: On a desktop, job status filters will appear as tabs on the left hand side of your screen.

The ‘Category’ filter

This feature allows you to filter jobs based on category, or in other words, industry. This is the best way to narrow down the number of jobs that are visible on your Open job dashboard, and to ensure those jobs are relevant to the industries you want to work in.

Note: On the app, you can filter by multiple categories (as pictured above) but while using a desktop, you will only be able to filter by one category at a time.

The ‘Sort’ feature

This feature will allow you to see the most relevant jobs first, based on:

  • Posted date - to help you find the newest job opportunities
  • Company name - to make it easier to find job opportunities listed with a particular company
