Information on why you may have received poor feedback, a low star rating, or a performance infraction following a shift on Sidekicker

Updated over a week ago

We are glad to see you are making a proactive effort to improve your performance by checking out this article!

If you recently received poor feedback, a low star rating or a performance infraction after working a Sidekicker shift, the most common reasons are related to:

Attitude

Whenever you work a Sidekicker shift, you are not only representing yourself but the Sidekicker brand too, which is why having an awesome attitude is so important! This includes being friendly and professional during your shift and completing all tasks required with a can-do attitude.

Being rude to other staff, checking your phone, or showing a general unwillingness to work or follow instructions can all contribute towards a business having a negative experience and leaving you poor feedback.

Being late to a shift

While arriving late can sometimes be outside of your control, it can lead to a negative experience for businesses that hire you.

We always recommend arriving at least 15 minutes prior to the shift start time to ensure you allow for any disruptions (such as delays to public transport or any difficulty you have locating the shift), especially if it is your first time working there!

It is also important to keep the business (and Sidekicker) informed if you are running late to a shift. This reassures the business you will still be showing up and also allows them to prepare accordingly for your delayed arrival.

Note: Some jobs will require you to arrive with plenty of time before the start time. This is common for large stadiums or events, where you are required to travel between break rooms, outlets and check-in sites. Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure you can commence your shift on time.

Poor skills on a shift

Prior to applying for any job on Sidekicker, you should always read through the job requirements carefully and make sure you have the skills and experience required.

For example, if a bartending job requires someone with cocktail-making experience, you should only apply for that job if you are confident and have previous experience making cocktails. Otherwise, the business could leave you with poor feedback if your skill set does not meet their expectations on shift.

Uniform/presentation Issue

Your uniform and presentation are key - it plays a huge part in making a great first impression on the business you are working with and its customers. If you turn up for a shift without the correct uniform, if your uniform is of poor quality, or if your presentation is not acceptable, this could all lead to the business leaving you a poor review.

It's also important to have an up-to-date profile photo of you looking sharp!

Critical Incident Feedback

If we receive feedback indicating you have breached any of Sidekicker's policies, this could result in a formal warning being issued, or the immediate deactivation of your Sidekicker account.

How does poor feedback impact my Sidekicker account?

All star ratings you receive from a business are visible on your Sidekicker profile and will contribute towards your overall star rating. However, any written feedback provided by a business is often submitted as private feedback, meaning it is only visible to our team at Sidekicker HQ.

If Sidekicker receives negative feedback about your performance we will always investigate this as a first step. We will also contact you to remind you about our Performance Policy and expectations.

If we continue to receive poor feedback relating to your performance, or if you breach any of our policies, this could lead to disciplinary action against your Sidekicker account.
